Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. ("SJII") was formed by the merger on 1st July, 2002 between The Yasuda Fire and Marine Insurance Company Limited and The Nissan Fire and Marine Insurance Company Limited. SJII has been serving clients in Europe for over 50 years since it first set up a representative office in London in 1955.

Sompo Japan Insurance Company of Europe Limited ("SJE") is a wholly owned subsidiary of SJII. SJE provides general insurance products and services mainly to Japanese companies.

With offices in the U.K., Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, SJE is able to provide insurance throughout the European Economic Area.

We are fully integrated into the global network of SJII and its subsidiaries which form the global Sompo Japan Group. The Sompo Japan Group operates from 164 locations in 28 countries and SJE works closely with other group companies, notably those located in Russia and the Middle East. Together we deliver client-focused products and services through commitment, innovation and expertise.

Our financial stability is indicated by an A+ rating for SJII and A rating for SJE from Standard and Poor's.
